She was predeceased by: her father Russell Carles; her parents-in-law, Earl and Jean Atwell; and her siblings-in-law, Janet and Tom Fritz.
She is survived by: her mother Mary Louise VanWinkle Brown; her spouse Kenney Earl Atwell; her sons, Tim Atwell and Corey Atwell (Kris); her grandchildren, Morgan and Nathan Atwell of Lake Villa, IL; her siblings, Carles Brown (Dorothy) and Linda Lievens; and her sister-in-law Jill Hultman (Jake). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, which will be distributed to First Presbyterian Church in Geneseo, Abilities Plus in Kewanee, and the University of Iowa Hospital Lung Cancer Research Center.
