He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Grunwald and Edith Grunwald (Nordstrom). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Wood; his son Jon Grunwald (Wendy) of Geneseo, IL; his grandsons, Brandon Meeks, Jake Grunwald and Brandon Alexander; and his sister Janet Gillette of Rapid City, SD..

Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or Gilda's Club of Davenport, IA.
