The passing of Carol VanMeenen of Geneseo, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on March 28, 2025 at the age of 90. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Morgan and Rena Morgan (Johnson); her sister Nancy Ann; her husband Alvin VanMeenen Sr.; her son Allen; and her daughter-in-law Brenda VanMeenen.
She is survived by: her sons, Greg VanMeenen (Merry) of Geneseo and Alvin VanMeenen Jr. of Atkinson; her grandchildren, Meghan Sievers (Tyler), Andrea, Jennifer Zeglis (Brian), Nicholas VanMeenen (Elisha), Danielle Cox (Mike), Amanda Murtha (Brian) and Curtis VanMeenen; her great grandchildren, Lillian, Eliza Sievers, Isabela, Wyatt, Eva Valentin, Margaret, Lucille Zeglis, Amelia, Abigail, Alyssa VanMeenen, Brooke and Kinsley Murtha; and also, Ed and Emma Johnson.
A rosary was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Vandemore Funeral Home - Geneseo (580 E Ogden Ave, Geneseo, IL 61254). Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (204 W Main St, Atkinson, IL 61235).
In lieu of flowers and statuaries, the family requests that memorials be left to the Carol VanMeenen Memorial Fund to be given to St. Anthony's Catholic Church and distributed among other charities.
