He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred A. Dobbels and Mary H. Buyck Dobbels; his brothers, Robert Dobbels, Gilbert Dobbels and Alfred Dobbels; his niece Becky Dobbels; and his nephew Jerry Dobbels.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Susan Borders (Dean), Scott Dobbels (Elizabeth) and Ted Dobbels (Deidre); his grandchildren, Dustin, Abigail Dobbels, Adam Borders, Greyson, Finnegan Dobbels, Alexandra Sloan, Chance Vicary, Andrew Borders (Lea) and Amber Lingen (Matt); his great grandchildren, Owen, Gabe and Henry Lingen; and his siblings, James Dobbels (Carol) of Cambridge, David Dobbels (Deb) of Cambridge, Don Dobbels (Kathy) of Cambridge and JoAn Dobbels-Morris.
