He is survived by: his wife Barbara N. Nichols; his children, Steve Childers of Mattoon and Sheila Childers (Lyle Schoonover); his siblings, Rick Childers of Allenville, Jeff Baker of Michigan, Linda Burns (Gilbert) of Mt. Morris, MI and Cherie Polk of Windsor; his grandchildren, Michael Childers, Greg Childers, Heidi Childers and Alex Carter; and his sister-in-law Betty Crites of Mattoon. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
