William D. Smith Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 30, 2020, at the age of 71, William D. Smith of Galva, Illinois, born in Kewanee, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale S. "Smitty" and Lois A. Smith (Erickson). He is survived by: his wife Tammy J. Nazer; his children, Michelle Cheline (Larry) of Galva and Ryan Smith (Jill) of Plainfield, IL; his stepsons, Todd Good (Jenny) of Galesburg and Scott Good (Bridget) of Springfield, IL; his siblings, Jerry Smith (Donna) of Galva, John Smith (Therese) of Pingree Grove, IL, Bruce Smith of Galva, Jean Huff (John) of Galesburg, Lori Lamb (Mike) of Gays, IL, Barb Franklin (Ronald) of LaSalle, IL and Mary Jane "Chick" Johnson (Fred Carlson) of Sheffield; and his grandchildren, Cameron, Cooper, Nolan, Addison, Liam, Kennedy, Owen and Kian. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to the restrictions of COVID-19 private services will be held at Rux Funeral Home in Galva but a golf outing in his memory for everyone to attend is planned for the fall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Sarcoma Foundation of America for research, the Galva Athletic Boosters or to the Galva Youth Sports Association and can be sent to Rux Funeral Home, 313 Market St., Galva, IL 61434.
