He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva R. Abbott and Helen I. Abbott (Jackson); his wife Sally Homer; his siblings, Robert, Donald and Dorothy Brody; his daughter Kim Thomson (Abbott); his grandson Joshua Wayne Thomson; and his stepson Carl Norbo.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Petersen (Gary) of Dixon, IL, Robert (Sue) of Dixon, IL, Theresa Dickerson (Clayton) of Victoria, IL and Ryan (Teri) of Kewanee, IL. He is also survived by three stepchildren, twelve grandchildren, four step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rux Funeral Homes (313 Market St, Galva, IL 61434). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Wounded Warriors.
