He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendell A. Hockett and Wilna M. Hockett (Bort); his wife Linda D. Brown; his sister Alice Owens; and his stepdaughter Veronica L. King.

He is survived by: his sons, Tim Hockett and Edward Hockett; his siblings, Joyce Jones (David) of Big Rock, IL and George Hockett; his grandchildren, Kayla, Kendra, Colton Hockett and Christopher King; and his great grandchildren, Braxton and Kaine Talbot.
