In loving memory of Leo A. Collinson of Galva, Illinois, who departed this world on January 27, 2025 at the age of 85. Leo leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Collinson and Doris Collinson (Smith); his former wife Alice Yelm; his wife Virginia A. Anderson; and his siblings, Leota, Lyle, Harold and Gordon.

He is survived by: his children, Larry Collinson (Patty) of Galva, Mark Stambaugh (Kendra) of Wichita, KS, Marsha Sterns of Springfield, OH, Dawn Scott of Galva and Tracy Raley (Bob) of Galva; his grandchildren, Cody Collinson, Craig Collinson (Kelly), Joe DeWitt (Amanda), Sadie DeWitt (Nik Lopatin), Haley Chavis, Gavin Raley and Madison Cotton; and his great grandchildren, Olivia Collinson, Ethan Walden, Ryan Bond, Leo Raley, Juniper Cotton and Preston Chavis.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rux Funeral Homes (313 Market St, Galva, IL 61434). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials may be directed to Boy Scout Troop 143 or to the First Baptist Church in Galva.

Jim Glasgo wrote a sympathy message

“So sorry for your loss. Leo was one of my best friends growing up in Galva. We had many adventures growing up together. I shared my first cigarette with Leo. We were about 12 at the time. I know I got sicker than a dog; We also climbed the Galva water tower along with my brother Jack. I got caught they didn't. He was a wonderful friend to grow up with. Once again so sorry for your loss. Jim Glasgo”
