He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Phelps and Anna Mae Phelps (Thornbrugh); his wife Mary F. Warnken; his granddaughter Elizabeth; and his sister Judith Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Phelps, Jr., Michael Phelps and Angie Wyant (Cory); and his grandchildren, Christopher, Abigail and Caleb. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
