He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Winter and Mildred Winter (Smith); his wife Elsie M. Powell; and his siblings, Robert, Eugene, Doris Chianakas and Susan Bridson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debbie Johnson (Ed) of Kewanee, Jane Riggs (Dave) of Sheffield and Donna Nigh (Mike) of Port Orange, FL; his grandchildren, Amber Biggs (Ryan) of Peoria, Heather Wold (Adam) of Chicago, Steven Johnson of Metamora, Michelle Johnson of Nashville, TN and Dakota Nigh of Port Orange, FL; his great grandchild Jack Biggs of Peoria; and his siblings, Richard Winter of Galva, Virginia Young, Joyce Steward, Henrietta Todd of Galva and June Klimkewicz of Kewanee.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Galva American Legion or the LaFayette United Methodist Church.
