He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Stevens and Lillian Stevens (Smith); and his children, Daniel and Marsha Brady. He is survived by: his wife Verla M. Orwig; his children, Raymond Stevens (Darlene) of La Fayette, Kirk Stevens (Virginia) of Altona, Burt Stevens (Colleen) of La Fayette, Linda Getter of Victoria, Sue Hutto (John) of Metairie, LA, Sarah Filson of Galva and Jan Poland (Brad) of Monroe, IA; his sister Pat Sherman of Galva; and his grandchildren, Bryan, Sandra, Kyle, Kim, Crystal, Tiffany, Elizabeth, Verla, Michael, Amanda, Connor, Tanner and Hunter. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the La Fayette United Methodist Church or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
