He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nelson and Edna Nelson (Blomquist); his siblings, Dolores Entrekin, William Nelson and Ralph Nelson; and his son-in-law Kris Medley.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara L. Kuster; his daughters, Diane Nelson of Galva, Sharon Nelson of Galva and Lara Medley (Court Monaghan) of Hudson, CO; his grandchildren, Spencer Medley of Bishop Hill and Emma Medley of Malabar, FL; and his brothers, Ivan Nelson of Missouri and Dean Nelson (Sandy) of Michigan.
