He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond L. Gerard and Verna M. Gerard (Champion); his sisters, Joyce and Sherrie; his stepsiblings, Wilma Savage (James) and Dean Russell; his son Bruce Gerard; and his stepdaughters, Debi Derry-Patnoe and Patty Derry.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly A. Bowen-Derry; his sons, Donald Gerard (Connie) and Kevin Gerard (Jane); his stepsons, Ray Derry and Tim Derry; his stepsister Doris Howell (Delbert); his brother-in-law Hubert Goodman (Wink); and his stepsister Jennett Russell. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.
