He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry LaVerne and Mildred Elvera Howerter, Sr. (Johnson). He is survived by: his wife Connie Howerter of Galesburg; his sons, Scott Howerter (Mila) of Albuquerque and Christopher Howerter (Tobie Webb) of Albuquerque; his stepdaughter Tonia Maloy (Shawn) of Galesburg; his grandchildren, Morgan, Cole, Jaycie, Marissa, Jacob, Nicholas, Natalie, Nathan, Walker, Madelyn and Emma; his great grandchildren, Kamdyn, Korbyn, RynnLeigh, Roman and Scottlyn; his brothers, Harry Howerter of Galesburg, Jack Howerter of Galesburg and Danny Howerter (Carol) of Galesburg; and his godson CJ Spring.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thomas Legacy Center (1849 N Seminary St, Galesburg, IL 61401). The military honors was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
