She is survived by: her husband Steven L. LaPorte; her niece Elana Fernandez (Jason) of Pekin, Illinois; her nephews, Clint James of Morton and Dusty James (Ashley) of Galesburg; her stepchildren, Christopher LaPorte (Charlene) of Peoria, Illinois and Elizabeth LaPorte of Galesburg; and her stepbrother Mike Shepherd of Galesburg.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the New Life Baptist Church (1232 W Fremont St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
