With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth A. L. Smith (Galesburg, Illinois), born in Unionville, Virginia, who passed away on June 25, 2023 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daisy Lewis and Eugene Lewis; her siblings, Lue Stanley Lewis, Edna Regina Lewis, Virginia Mae Ellis (Aunt Jen), George Herman Lewis, Naomi Claire Lewis and Matthew Lewis Scott; and her spouse Thomas Leon Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Fredrick Douglass Boulware of Sterling, VA, Mattie Scott (Jerry) and Amelia Smith of Tucson, AZ.; her grandchildren, Robin White (Darren), Jerey McKinney (Keon) of Bloomington, IL, Julianne Boulware of Gary, IN and Fredrick Boulware IV of Indian Head, MD; her great grandchild Joshua; her grandchild Kendall McKinney of Bloomington, IL; her great great grandchild Giovanni White of Aurora, CO; her niece Nina Mbengue; her nephews, Alvin Brown, Robert Thomas and Afeworki Paulos; and her sisters-in-law, Josephine Smith of Macon and Theodora Smith of Macon.
