She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray N. Carter and Lillian B. Carter (Watson); her grandson Russell Carter Jr.; and her sister Darlene Carter. She is survived by: her children, Russell Carter (Mechele) of Gilliam, Tony Briggs (Shawn) of Portland, Lawrence Briggs (Jennifer) of Galesburg, Jeff Briggs of Galesburg and Brenda Briggs of Peoria; her grandchildren, Tyler Briggs, Tori Wooter, Lashae Briggs, LaTeka Carter and Tiffany Briggs; and her nephew Bill Williams of New Mexico. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
