He is survived by : his children, Ronald Dean Johnson (Christel) of Kansas City, Jody Johnson of Central Park and Mason French of Galesburg, Illinois; his grandchild Gaberial Hilman; and his brother Otis (Johnson). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at 5:30 PM at the Home of Mason French (564 Knox Hwy 26, Galesburg, IL 61401).

“The Johnson’s family was one of our close circle of friends when my family first moved to the Alpha area in 1964. No matter how long it had been since we saw each other, Mike treated me like a brother. I have very good juvenile memories of Mike. Even the very first time he was allowed to go out at night with us for an evening out with the boys. Mike was a very good boy. I will miss him!”
