It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lynda L. Oakes (Galesburg, Illinois), born in Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Sullivan and Ruth Sullivan (Presley); and her sister Wilma Munson. She is survived by: her husband David H. Oakes; her children, Charlotte Lindsey (David) of Oneida and Robert D. Oakes (Mary) of Chicago, Illinois; her sister Mary Ann Hitchcock of Maylene; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Roberts (Taylor), Timothy Lindsey, Zachary Oakes and Delaney Oakes.

Memorials may be made to the Peoria Christian Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
