It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lester Alen Friend of Galesburg, Illinois, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis L. Friend and Irene Friend (Krall); his son Todd; and his siblings, Louie Friend and Sandy Waters.
He is survived by: his wife Helen J. Arnold of Galesburg; his daughters, Tammy Ferguson (Joel) of Indianapolis and Lori Elliott (Brian) of Canton, Illinois; his siblings, Ronnie (Linda), Karen Baker (Les) of Galesburg, Nina Smith (Stephen) of Galesburg, Debbie Marty (Dave) of Galesburg and Monica Inness (late Bob) of Galesburg; and also Addison Painter. He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
