He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Gumm and E. Jane Gumm (Pottorf); and his grandson Jack James Giroux. He is survived by: his fiancée Gina Crum of Galesburg; his children, Samantha Giroux (Joe) of Heyworth, Tyler Gumm (Makenzie) of Galesburg and Dana Gumm of Knoxville; his grandchildren, Travis Gleason, Kendra Gleason, Beau Gumm, Colin Giroux, Luna Gumm and Oaklyn Gumm; his brother Douglas Gumm of Galesburg; his close friends, Roger Schrodt (Nancy) of Galesburg, John Hagan (Debbie) of Galesburg and Steve Hood (Lisa) of Industry; and the mother of his children Linda Zimmerman (Erickson) of Canton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to establish a trust fund for his grandchildren.
