She was predeceased by: her parents, James Rock and Martha Rock (Crowl); her husband James E Vancil; her sons, James and Jesse; and her siblings, Audrey Tusek, Betty Walker, Phyllis McNeeley, Richard Rock, Andy Rock, Danny Rock and James Rock.
She is survived by: her daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Vancil (James) of Davenport, IA and Karen Vancil (Jesse) of Springfield, IL; her siblings, Bonnie Wiggens, Judy Dean of St Charles, MO and Arly Rock of Bluffs, IL; her grandchildren, Vicki Bowers (James) of Colona, IL, Matthew Vancil (Amy) of Tampa, FL, Erica Woo (Richard) of St Charles, MO and Luke Vancil of Springfield, IL; her great grandchildren, Brandon Bowers of Galesburg, Ashli Bowers (Derek Foster), Benjamin, Elsie, Lian Woo of St Charles, MO and Noah Vancil of Tampa, FL; and her great great grandchildren, Frederick and Ricky Foster.
Memorials in Joan's memory may be given to Galesburg Rescue Mission.
