He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert E. Colwell and Marjorie Colwell (Swank); and his wife Cecile Marie Shaw. He is survived by: his children, Frank Colwell (Mary) of Mesa, Tommy Colwell (Debbie) of Galesburg, Joe Colwell (Michelle) of West Columbia, Todd Colwell of Galesburg and Mary Hamilton of Moline, Illinois; and his brothers, Danny Colwell of Galesburg and Kenneth Colwell (Donna) of Abingdon, Illinois.. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
