He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlin Schmutz and Eva Schmutz (Lawrence); his son Christopher Schmutz; and his sister Sandra Morse. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Schmutz (Bruce Lukanich) of Lisle, IL, David Schmutz (Alice) of Brooksville, FL, Lori Leitner (Darrin) of Tremont, IL, Lana Tranchitella (Brian) of Washington, IL, Lindsay DelGallo (Michael) of Downers Grove, IL, Kelly Franklin of Alexis, IL and Matthew Schmutz (Bianca) of North Henderson, IL; his brothers, Arlin Schmutz of Princeton, IL and Rick Schmutz (Brenda) of Colorado; and his brother-in-law Francis Morse of Tiskilwa, IL. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wilton Mortuary (2101 Knoxville Ave, Peoria, IL 61603). A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to any Veteran organization in honor of Dave.
