He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Johnson and Hester Cowger Johnson; his brothers, Bill Johnson, Kenneth Johnson and Clayton Johnson; and his wife Violet Ruth Rippy.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Johnson (Sue) of Monmouth, IL, Judy Simkins (Mike) of Knoxville, IL, Lisa Smith (Darrell) and Eric Johnson (Ann); his grandchildren, Mark Johnson, Jenny Hurst (Steven), Bradley Hale (Maddie), Hannah Lipe (Aaron), Lillian Hurt (Tanner), Jacob Smith (Rebecca), Joshua Smith (Kayla), Jeremiah Smith (Maria), Nathan Johnson and Sarah Johnson; his great grandchildren, Abbi, Riley, Aiden, Asher, Declan, Jovian, Miller Kate, Molly, Ellie, Gus, Winnie and Lottie; and his brother-in-law Robert Thuller. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
