He was predeceased by: his parents, H. Leland Paul and Ada Wilson Paul; and his brother Chuck. He is survived by: his wife Betty Metzner; his children, Teresa Varney (Bill) of Battle Lake, MN and Matthew Paul (Tricia) of Little York; his grandchildren, Chase Rickord (Kristen) of Raleigh, NC and Haley Paul of Little York; his great grandchildren, Mayala and Adalyn Rickord; and his sister Karen (Jim Evans) of Concord, NC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
