He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence P. Gabel. He is survived by: his mother June Gabel; his stepfather Kenneth P. Swanson; his brother Brent E. Gabel of Galesburg, Illinois; his sons, Benjamin H. Gabel (Meghan) and Zachary P. Gabel of Millstadt, Illinois; his stepson Marvin Powell (Andrea); his stepgrandchildren, Drew, Lauren and Caleb of Normal; and his stepbrother Brian Swanson of Lincoln, Nebraska.. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A reception will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Church of God (1080 Harrison St, Galesburg, IL 61401). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers Brian requested monetary contributions which will be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies as needed for students at the Monmouth-Roseville High School.
