He was predeceased by: his parents, Otha J. Self and Opal Self (Spence); his wife Carol Machin; his sons, Craig Self and Billy B. "Butch" Self, Jr.; and his siblings, Jean, Laura Lou and Jim.
He is survived by: his former wife Donna Culbertson; his children, Laura Chapin (Mike) of Abingdon, Tina Strom (Rich) of Oak Run, Terri Tuthill (Joe) of Knoxville and Jerald Ryan (Laura) of Tucson, AZ; and his brother Jay Self (Janet).
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home - Knoxville (120 N Public Square, Knoxville, IL 61448). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Williamsfield Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the National Coalition of Black Lung & Respiratory Disease Clinics.
