He was predeceased by: his parents, John Coty and Mary Coty; and his wife Margaret M. Polzin. He is survived by: his children, Michael Coty, Angela Coty and Lou Coty (Amy); his grandchildren, Brandon, Logan and Jenna Coty (Buffy "Fluffy"); and his caregivers, Amy Hendricks and Margo Pink.

The family requests donations are made to Hospice of Dubuque, St. Judes, or the Dubuque Humane Society in memory of Bill.
