He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Kieffer and Helen Kieffer (Splinter); his grandson Zachary; his parents-in-law, Elwyn and Rosemary Meyer; and his siblings, James, Nicholas Kieffer, Barbara and Mary Kieffer.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Meyer of Mary's Catholic Church; his grandson Matthew Kieffer of Dubuque; his children, Lucas, Eric, Emily and Nathan Kieffer (Cortney) of Dubuque; his grandsons, Jackson and Colin; his son Justin Kieffer (Jennifer) of East Dubuque, IL; his grandsons, Joshua, William and Andrew; his son Jacob Kieffer of Galena; his grandson Nicholas; his son Ben Kieffer (Lindsay) of Pace, FL; his granddaughters, Madeline and Isabelle; his daughter Amanda DuHack (Tim) of Galena; his grandchildren, Samantha, Grace, Sebastian and Tucker; his siblings, Carol Spurr of Rochester, MN, Madonna Hilliard of Pocatello, ID, Jerry Kieffer of Galena and Robert Kieffer of Tupelo, MS; and his siblings-in-law, Barbara Meyer, Constance Meyer, John Meyer (Mary) and Richard Baumgartner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Furlong Funeral Chapel (100 Caroldon Ct, Galena, IL 61036). Visitation was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (400 Franklin St, Galena, IL 61036). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Donations may be made to the American Red Cross or American Cancer Society in memory of Russ.
