Toebaas of Galena, Illinois, born in Evanston, Illinois, who passed away on May 5, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Toebaas (Polzin) and Lawrence A. Toebaas; his wife Alice; and his sister Jacqueline Glee Osowski. He is survived by: his nieces, Jane McKnight (Terry), Sandra Bystrom (Mark), Mary Reid (Rob), Ann Bigalke (Jerry) and Lori Osowski (Mark); his nephew Joe Osowski (Jean); and his sister-in-law Doreen Barse (Donald).

He requested that any memorial donations be made in his and Alice's name to the Alice Toebaas Curatorial Endowment Fund at the Galena – Jo Daviess County Historical Society.
