He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Masterson and Elizabeth Masterson; his siblings, Daniel Masterson, Donny Masterson and Bettyann O'Neil; his wife Nancy Lynn Kopperud; his children, Richard J. Masterson III, Lori Winston (Evan) and Ryan Masterson; and his grandchildren, Joey, Lexi and Leonard.
His passion led to championing others who faced similar types of health issues and soon he became an engaged advocate for the Nation Kidney Foundation.
