He was predeceased by: his parents, George Young and Marian De Young (Ziemba); his sister Paulette Munson; his parents-in-law, Walter and Lorraine Skoglund; his brother-in-law Raymond Skoglund; and his nephew Jimmy Corbett.

He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Christopher De Young (Cindy) of Jacksonville, FL and Tina Bowers (Jeremy) of Minooka, IL; his grandchildren, Will, Cooper and Jonathan Bowers; his brothers-in-law, Michael Walter and Patrick "PJ" Skoglund; his nieces, Kristin Michelle Skoglund and Dawn Corbett; his nephew Michael Corbett; his godson Paul Walter Skoglund; and his cousin Tim Kwasniewski. He is also survived by his family and friends.
