He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cooke and Dorothea Cooke; his child-in-law Robin; his grandchild Collen; and his sisters, Betty and Zelda.

He is survived by: his wife Marge; his sons, John IV, Paul and James; his daughters-in-law, Susan, Colleen and Charity; his grandchildren, Jessica, John V, Ian, Owen and Ethan; and his great grandchildren, Keegan and Kinley. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
