It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frederick Fjelde of Galena, Illinois, born in Urbana, Illinois, who passed away on August 15, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Olaf Fjelde and Britta Fjelde (Wenman); his son Brian; and his sister Anne Marie Fjelde. He is survived by: his wife Jennie Fjelde; his daughter Kristin Tasler (Mike); his niece Deb Spalding; and his nephews, Bob and Erik Kuhne.

Due to Covid-19, a public celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

“continued... I have to share that I was moved to find out Rik passed on August 15, the very day I was clearing out old furniture reference books that had been piling up over the years at The Loft. I was compelled to open one of the books, which to my surprise, when opened found it was one that Rik had written about his family history!! I really believe Rik guided me to open it to save it from the donation box! We will keep it at the Loft to keep his energy there. ❤️Allison”

He was such a joy to work with at the Loft building and was always so appreciative of even the smallest task or project completed. He created such a beautiful space for us all to live out our passions of finding and selling vintage and antiques. (i’m getting cut off so will continue in another post!...)”
