She was predeceased by: her parents, George Callahan and Christina Callahan; her parents-in-law, Anton and Irene Berning; her siblings, Gertrude Weis (Harold "Tom"), Rosie Berning (Earl) and Leroy Callahan (Peg); and her parents-in-law, Edward Berning (Mary Ellen), Walter Berning (Irene), Earl Berning (Rosie) and Rosie Fleege (Jerome).

She is survived by: her children, Gerald Berning (Donna), Judy Werner (Les), Lynn Werner (Frank), Tony Berning (Connie), William Berning (Michele), Peter Berning (Terri) and Christopher Berning (Janine). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be designated to the family for use at a later date.
