He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Winget and Katherine Winget (Bland); his stepson Mark Douglas Walters; and his brother James D. Winget. He is survived by: his wife Marie; his children, Joy Dougherty (Daniel) of Salem, OR, John Winget (Pam) of Washington, IA and Ray Winget (Dannie) of Kingman, AZ; his stepsons, Terry Walters and David Walters of Billings, MT; his siblings, Jean Dumas (Stephen) of Apple Valley, MN, Robert Winget (Karen) and John Winget (Jean) of New York; and his sister-in-law Linda Winget of Maryland. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to Barbershop Harmony Society – Harmony Youth Project.
