She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest E. LaShelle and Eliza J. LaShelle (Harding); her husband Leland J. Houzenga; her daughter Peggy Jean Houzenga; her brothers, Donald LaShelle, Everett LaShelle and Gerald LaShelle; and her siblings-in-law, Alvin Housenga and Leota Laughlin.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Wadle (Gordon) of Thomson, Connie Nicolaysen (Kevin) of Fulton, Russell Houzenga (Sandy Jilderda) of Argo Fay, IL, Bruce Houzenga (Jenny) of Morrison, IL, Art Houzenga (Teri) of Fulton, David Houzenga (Rita) of Clinton, IA and Douglas Houzenga of Thomson; her grandchildren, Elisha, Michelle, Mariah, Travis, Nyssa, Kaler, Anthony, Richard, Kristen, Brian, Nicholas, Meghan, Heather, Brent, Leland, Shane, David, Tiffany and Haley; her brother Frank LaShelle (Joyce) of Thomson; and her sisters-in-law, Lori LaShelle of Thomson and Deana LaShelle of Clinton. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren and two great grandchildren on the way; four great great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to Thomson EMS and Fire Department.
