He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark W. Clarkson and Ida H. Clarkson (Kuhse); and his siblings, Marjorie Schultz, Sandy Harkness, Donald and Norman Clarkson.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia K. Buikema; his sons, Mark R. Clarkson (Michelle) of Marion, IA and Eric A. Clarkson (Nicole) of Fulton; his grandsons, Elijah Clarkson, Kane and Clayton Clarkson; his siblings, Janice Steele of Elizabeth, IL, Bonnie Olsen of Freeport, IL, Kathy Winters (Carl) of Scales Mound, IL, William Clarkson (Joyce) of Thomson, IL and Wayne "Butch" Clarkson (Ann) of Hanover, IL; his sisters-in-law, Lori Colschen (Steve) of Clinton, IA and Lisa Witt (Jeff) of Fulton, IL; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Shirley Buikema. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to the Fulton Athletic Boosters.
