He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert A. Merema and Theresa L. Merema (Schaver). He is survived by: his wife Denise Bailey; his daughters, Tammy Bormann (Gary) of Andover, IA, Stacy Bohle (Tom) of Clinton, IA and Tracey Regenwether (Mike) of Clinton, IA; his grandchildren, Marissa, Keaton Bormann, Zachary Bohle and Lane Regenwether; and his siblings, Patricia Dierks of Preston, IA, Roberta Burdsall (Dan) of Branson, MO and Stanley Merema (Lois) of Florida.
A memorial has been established to the Clinton Humane Society.
