He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Rathje and Alice Rathje (Harlock); and his brother Gene Rathje. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Schaver; his sons, Michael Rathje (Patti) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jeffrey Rathje (Kathy) of Cincinnati, OH; his grandchildren, Alex and Julia Rathje; and his brother Bill Rathje of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
