With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Darlene Rathje of Fulton, Illinois, born in Morrison, Illinois, who passed away on September 7, 2021 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob J. Schaver and Jeanette Schaver (Buikema); and her husband James R. Rathje. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Rathje (Patti) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jeffrey Rathje (Kathy) of Cincinnati, OH; her grandchildren, Alex and Julia Rathje; her siblings, Carol Stash of Clinton, IA, Kenneth W. Schaver (Barbara) of Morrison, IL, Donald J. Schaver (Marilyn) of Albany, IL, Harlan Schaver (Evelyn) of Fulton, IL and Robert W. Schaver (Deb) of Albany, IL; and her brother-in-law Bill Rathje of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
