Cain (Engelkens); his daughters, Sharon Renkes (Gordon) of Columbus, OH, Sandra Poskin (Gary) of Clinton, IA, Sheila Dykstra (Don) of Fulton, IL and Susan Temple of Morrison, IL; his stepchildren, Beth Short (Kevin) of Camanche, IA and Thomas Cain (Eileen) of Oregon, IL; his stepdaughter-in-law Lori Cain of Cayuga, IN; his grandchildren, Nathan Renkes (Beth Marland), Rachel Concitis (Bob), Jennifer Schmidt (Chad), Cindy Krogmann (Josh), Carissa Johnson (Matt), Lana Poskin-Klod (Dave), Andrea Eggers (Scott), Elizabeth Berns (Eric), Samantha Sterenberg (John), Rebecca Kramer (Cole) and Matthew VanDrew (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Kristin Marland, Spencer, Sidney, Paul Renkes, Bradley, Rebekah Concitis, Alexis, Kayla, Jayden Krogmann, Breanna Tschantz, Emily Eggers, Gavin, Ella Berns, Jeremiah Sterenberg, Dominick, Paisley, Kennedy Kramer, Waylon, Jacob and Brayden VanDrew; his great great grandchildren, Jordyn Cady and Lucy Tschantz; his stepgrandchildren, Melissa Bowers, Brian Cain, Jonathan Cain, Candace Marquis (Jeremy), Emily Cook, Lucas Short, Matt Short and Megan Oksana-Cain; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Brayden, Brooklyn Bowers, Kylie Witman, Gony, Sarah, Aaliyah Tim, Harper Bagg and Alexis Cook.
A memorial has been established to Rehoboth Christian Indian Mission School and Bethel Christian Reformed Church – Memorial Garden.
