He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Smith and Ori Smith (Webber); his wife Connie Dietmeier; and his siblings, Janice, Mary, Wilma, Lawrence (Pat), Bob, Freddie, Jim and Arnold.
He is survived by: his former wife Roberta Mulligan; his children, Diana Pringey (John) of Hubbard Ohio, Kelly Smith of Rockford Illinois, Daren, Cathy and Jeff; his stepdaughter Gwen (Dean Collette); his grandchildren, Jonathan Riley (Amber), Heather Riley (Adam), Erica Meinert (Josh), Christopher Brimeier, Jeremy Heeren (Charlotte) and Jordan Heeren (Nikki); his close friend Wendy Smith; and his siblings, Betty Allen, Alma Mae Wiltfang, Delores Hogus (Dolly) and Richard Smith. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
Connie had Alzheimer's the last ten years of her life.
