He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Claire and Esther Bertha Sandell (Kruse); and his siblings, Kenneth Sandell, William Sandell, Melvin Sandell, Betty Temple, Eileen Judas, Phyllis Jean Sandell and Flora Mae Sandell.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Sandell; his children, Dale Sandell (Pam), Dennis Sandell (Monica) and Darla Brinkmeier; his grandchildren, Carrie Hass (Aaron), Chad Sandell, Cale Sandell (Heather), Codi Kempel (William), Hannah Sandell and Josephine Pickard (Andrew); and his sister Myrle McClaffin. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial has been established in his memory at St. Croix Hospice.
