She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Maher and Lilas Maher (Wittbecker); her husband Robert "Bob" Houghton; her daughter Pamela Sue; and her brothers, Don Maher, Bob Maher and Bill Hiteman.
She is survived by: her children, Dale Houghton (Jaime) of Marengo, Sue Rieger (Dan) of Freeport, Jeff Houghton of Fenton, MO and Dan Houghton (Mindy) of Chandler; her grandchildren, J. R., Grace, Jessica, Cal, Katie, Payton and Abigail; her great grandchildren, Aidan and Addison; and her sister-in-law Lois Maher. She is also survived by her family and grandchildren.
A memorial has been established in Shirley's memory.
