She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Willis and Hazel Willis (Jungwirth); her husband Richard Schmelzle (Dick); her daughter Diane Schmelzle; and her siblings, Carol Lorenz and Paul Willis.
She is survived by: her son Randy Schmelzle of Freeport; her daughters-in-law, Lisa VanBrocklin of Florida and Julia Schmelzle of Freeport; her grandchildren, Chris Schmelzle (Kayla) of Freeport, Miranda Dittmar (Jon) of Freeport and Savannah Schmelzle of Freeport; her great grandchildren, Zoie, Kaylee, Nathan Schmelzle, Breanna Dittmar and Kainin McIlvanie; and her brothers, Robert Willis (Marilyn) of Freeport and James Willis of Missouri. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
