We are sad to announce that on July 26, 2022, at the age of 79, Robert E. Downing Sr. of Freeport, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Downing and Jeanne Downing (Schofield); and his brothers, Earl Downing Jr. and Roy R. Downing, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda L. Downing of Freeport; his children, Robert Downing Jr. (Lori) of Topeka, KS and Sarah Hutmacher (Dan) of Freeport; his sister Earleanne Burkhalter (Jerry) of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Hannah Downing of Stockton and Allie Downing of Topeka; his great grandchild Angus White; and his children, Dr. Saskia Albers (Germany) of Bochum and Meeka.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Robert's memory.
