He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Staas and Belva Mae Staas (Weiler); his wife Marilee Staas, and his siblings, Roger Staas, Janice Hammond, Julie Coakley (Mike) and Juanita Perkins (Blannie).
He is survived by: his sons, Richard T. Staas and Mitchell G. Staas (Kelly); his grandchildren, Piper, Lucy Staas, Max and Raegan Staas; his sister Judy Paluzzi; and his brother-in-law Bill Hammond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
